Hello! I’m Gelela Fikre, a licensed Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) dedicated to helping children build the skills they need to communicate and enjoy mealtimes with confidence. With a deep passion for working with young children, I specialize in treating a variety of speech, language, and feeding challenges in children from infancy through adolescence. I believe that every child is unique, and I approach therapy with a personalized, family-centered mindset. Whether your child is struggling with speech delays, language development, feeding difficulties, or oral-motor issues, my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy that makes a lasting impact. I work closely with families to create a supportive, positive environment that encourages growth and progress. What I Specialize In: Speech and Language Delays: Helping children improve articulation, vocabulary, sentence structure, and overall communication. Early Intervention: Addressing developmental speech and language delays in young children to support timely milestones. Feeding and Swallowing Disorders: Treating picky eating, feeding aversions, oral-motor delays, and difficulty swallowing. Social Communication Skills: Supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental conditions in building strong social communication. Speech and Language Disorders Related to Medical Conditions: Supporting children with speech and feeding challenges caused by conditions like cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, or other neurological disorders. I strive to make therapy fun and engaging, incorporating playful and interactive techniques to keep your child motivated while they develop essential skills. My goal is to help your child build confidence in communicating and eating so that they can reach their fullest potential. Fun Facts: I am bilingual in English and Amharic. I have taught in CCSD and spent a year teaching English in China. I graduated with my master’s degree from Nevada State College. During graduate school, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). In my free time I enjoy traveling and trying new restaurants and coffee shops. Thank you for visiting my website!
